Below is my example of the Dansih Officers sword M. 1765.

The sword below has Frederik V's monogram and is dated the year he died, 1766.

It is my understanding that this type of Officer's sword is an adoptation of an Prussian Officers sword of similar form from ca 1740 ?

There is a lot of good knowlege on this forum and any information and or photos of the Prussian Officer's sword of similar form would be interesting :)

It does not seem that there is anyone here that has any knowledge about the Prussian Officers sword's from around 1740 that has its origin in a lesser popular French officers sword from ca 1720.

Shame there is no collectors that can bother to cheer their Prussian or French forefathers. I take it that was your intention with your post and understand that there has been some time since you have posted anything here.

The Prussian companion is in Germany not called a "model 1740" but in out literature "Type II" wich was carried around that time but has no precise date (i.e. the earlier Type I was also carried after 1740).

Hello Kyrass - do you have a picture of the aforementioned 1720 Frenchs sword? I have not seen this type before and am curious to learn about it.

Yes indeed a handsome type of swords. As you can see above I write around 1740. So we are basically saying the same thing with different words.

No I do not have a photo at hand of the French predecessor :)
