I would be very pleased, if anyone here in Blankwaffenforum can tell me something about this Sword (Degen).
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Henry

Hello Henry,
"
Ubi Gloria Omne Periculum Dulce"
Übersetzt:
"Wo Ruhm [ist, ist] alle Gefahr süß."
"Where [the] glory [is,] all danger [tastes] sweet."
Is there any motto or cypher on the other side of the blade?
Or any maker mark?
Gibt es einen Spruch oder ein Zeichen auf der anderen Klingenseite?
Oder ein Hersteller-Zeichen?
Would it be possible to see a foto of the top of the button? (Angelnietkopf von oben)?
Best regards
Carsten

Hej Carsten,
thank you for your answer, and I apologize for my late replay - I have been on vacation.
The blade is marked on both sides with the same text, and there is no maker marks.
The top button is marked with 3 lions in a shield.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Henry

Hej Carsten,
no, it is not like the english lions.
There is a crown above the 3 lions - more like the danish mark.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Henry

Hej Henry,
than have a look here:
>Dänemark - Offizierdegen M 1837< (unofficial pattern)
The regulation M 1837 small sword has a single-edged, towards point double-edged blade with broad groove and the inscription "Frederiksværk".
Best regards
Carsten

Hej Carsten,
yes, I know M1837, but I think it differs too much from the Degen, I show - please look at the picture (it is M1837 to the right).
Maybe someone has been very creative........
Kind Regards
Henry

The blade looks older than the rest, but doesn't fit to M 1765/6 (officerer af fodfolket) and 1777 (underofficerer af artilleriet) too, I don't know it. :(
Best
Carsten
