I wonder if anyone can help me identify this item; Double edged, wooden handle. Total length 70 cm. The design is sligthly similar to the British pattern of navy cutlasses.It sure does look like its some kind of naval cutlass. If anyone knows, please let me know!

ich habe so etwas noch nicht gesehen!

Der Griffbügel mutet im Vergleich zur wuchtigen Klinge etwas schlank, zierlich und unmaßstäblich (also jünger) - der Holzgriff will auch nicht so richtig in mir bekannte Schemen passen.
Alt sieht auf den ersten Blick alles aus.

Es wurde ja viel aus Not zusammengebaut - vielleicht auch offiziell??

Mein Bauchgefühl sagt: Es will alles nicht so richtig zusammenpassen. Aber wie gesagt: Bauchgefühl.

Vielleicht findet sich jemand, der das Stück (oder Teile) zuordnen kann.

Gibt es Marken auf der Waffe?

No, there are no visible markings on the blade. I agree with you, the blade is somewhat unproportional to the handle. The cutlass seems rather old, probably 1780-1840 something. I have seen similar on another forum where they were described as "trade swords" or "pirate swords". My personal guess is that it is some kind of civil sword for trade ship or similar. It comes from Trelleborg in Sweden and its a costal town with a rather big harbour. It is possible that it has come with a ship sometime in the 18-19th century?
Any other opinions are most welcome.
