Gruessen Alles; Heute findet ich beim Flohmarkt im Alabama.

WK&C Hersteller Stempln, aetzt fuer Erstes Garde Dragoner Regt. No 23.

Griff ist aus Kunststoff. (Bakelit) Scheide ist vernickelt mit ein band, und Einhacksoese...(1892 bis 1904?)

U/Lange: 1 M
W/Lange: 98 cm
K/Lange: 84 cm
M/Breite: 25 mm
M/Staerke: 8 mm

Translated: "1. Majority-ducally Hessian Dragoon's regiment (guard Dragoon regiment) Number 23".

I think also if nickel-plated the scabbard, then till 1905. Nice item!

"Grand Ducal Hessian...." I know that online translators and even dictionaries are sometimes lacking the obsolete terms!!

Greetings Thomas: OK, I have a lot of trouble with the bad on line translators and if it were not for my experience with other languages, (German,Spanish, Russian, et al...) I would have to use their translations verwirt ..."Grand Ducal" are words that the average American would not know anyhow.... freuen
